Residency Program
The Enamelist Society Residency at Pocosin
May 17–27, 2026
This ten-day residency is designed exclusively for members of The Enamelist Society, offering focused, uninterrupted studio time for enamel-based exploration and production. Participants will work primarily in Pocosin Arts’ metals studio, with access to kilns and shared equipment suitable for a wide range of enameling approaches. Residents are invited to propose an enamel-focused project and may also incorporate complementary processes or mixed media as appropriate.
The residency welcomes enamelists at any stage of their career who are comfortable working independently in a shared studio environment. The atmosphere supports both concentrated individual practice and informal exchange among fellow enamelists. A studio coordinator will be present during the workday to assist with equipment orientation and studio-related questions.
Residents are responsible for supplying their own materials and tools specific to their enameling practice and may ship materials to Pocosin Arts in advance of the residency. Participants provide their own meals and have 24-hour access to a fully equipped communal kitchen and gas grill, along with shared lounge spaces and ample outdoor areas overlooking the Scuppernong River and surrounding town.
Recipients will receive $1400 from The Enamelist Society plus residency fee from Pocosin Arts.

Submission requirements:
- A brief project description of work to be done and what you hope to accomplish in 500 words or less
- 5-10 Images of past work and/or drawings of work to be completed during the residency.
- Intro about self or resume
- A $15 application fee
Residency award winners will be asked to write a summary of their experience and images of their work on completion of their residency for TES archives and newsletter.
