Enamel

Postage Stamps and Postcards
The Exhibition
Deadline: Prior to August 17, 2008

Exhibition Dates: August 17 – September 6, 2008

Sponsored by Bill Helwig, the exhibition will be held as part of the W.W. Carpenter Enamel Foundation Conference at Carpenter Foundation Vitreous Enamel Center and Museum.

This is an exhibition concept. Excite your mind, try your skills, and design something new. The exhibition is about postcards and postage stamps, redefined. It is a cost-cutter for the participant and a mind-expanding challenge filled with the potential of thinking outside of the box.

There is no entry fee. There is no jury. The only cost is your concept and postage to and from the exhibition. There is no limit on the number of entries, but entry forms are required for each piece or set. All entries must conform in size and theme only. Please remember that both Postcards and Postage Stamps can have a front and a back, and that Postcards require a Postage Stamp. Consider the concept as a reprieve from the usual boredom for your art for arts sake and revise inventive creativity with concept beyond the mundane.

Postage Stamps must contain denomination and country of origin, and fit on a postcard. Postcards must be no larger than 6” x 4-1/4” or smaller than 5” x 3-1/2”, or thicker than 1/8”. Postage Stamps must resemble a stamp, and Postcards must resemble a postcard that could be sent through International mail, if created on paper.
